FC tested well below expectations but date code showed chlorine was more than 2 months old, plus lots of pollen and seeds continue to fall. Pool is covered, but pollen and small seeds get through. Temps have been in the mid-90s with intense sunlight, which still penetrates the mesh cover. Added last 2 gallons which should bring FC closer to SLAM level.

Big drop in FC, attributed to heavy thunderstorms that knocked lots of debris into the pool: pollen, seeds and leaves. Took a full day to get it cleaned up and more debris fell into the pool overnight. Planning to put cover on tomorrow if OCLT is passed in the morning. Chiller has been covered for a few days.

Added remainder of 1gal of LC after using some to treat algae/mold on back of outdoor kitchen. Lots of pollen, along with seeds and leaves, fell over the past 2 days. Everything coated with a fine green dust.

Cool front moved through and water temp was 77° this morning, so chiller was turned off. High of mid to upper 80s today.
pH tested with pool water only. FC dropping 2-3ppm per day with SWCG at 70% for 18 hours, which should produce 3.1ppm. That would mean overall FC drop is 5-6ppm per day, which seems high. Once FC drops below 20ppm, will do another OCLT.

Last night’s test must have been a little off, as FC shows higher this morning (26.5 vs 25). Tested twice this morning and the 2nd test showed 27.5. Double checked to verify that the SWCG was off and it was. It was shut off 30 minutes prior to last night’s test. Water is clear, even when brushing. Going forward as a successful OCLT and will raise to mustard algae SLAM level of 35. Will add LC and run SWCG at 100% to maintain that level for 24 hours. Will then run FC at mustard algae level.

1.5ppm FC loss in 3 hours in full sun with SWCG running at 70%, which should have produced .5ppm. Total FC loss = 2ppm, which is probably normal in full sun on a 95° day.

CYA tested at 70, possibly even 60 at midday. Dot was clearly visible at 80, so 70 will be used for SLAM FC calculations. 28 is the SLAM target and FC currently measures 29.5. SLAM starts now since this is the first FC measurement that has reached SLAM target level. 18 gallons of FC are on standby, which will be necessary for mustard SLAM target of 40.5.
